Björn Åkesson
Björn started playing golf at the age of seven with his father as a big influence. He joined the Swedish Junior Team in 2002 at the age of 13.
In 2006 he won his first international victory, Duncan Putter in Wales, and is still the youngest ever winner of this tournament.
His amateur career peaked in 2007 when he won the prestigious Junior Eisenhower Trophy team event and the individual Polo Golf Junior Classic. He was then ranked the number one junior amateur golfer in the world.
Björn turned professional in 2009 after a remarkable amateur career and he is still considered one of the best male amateur golfers Sweden has seen.
He finished second in the order of merit in the 2010 Nordic League, leading to two full seasons on the European Challenge Tour. At the 2012 Qualifyng school, he took the 15th card, earning him a rookie season on The European Tour in 2013. A 142nd place on the order of merit meant he had to return to the Challenge Tour in 2014, where he finished 40th on the order of merit.
Not succeeding to regain his European Tour status through the 2014 qualifying school Björn is now back on the Challenge Tour in 2015.
SSP Chawrasia
Shiv, or SSP, picked up the game of golf at the age of 10 at Royal Calcutta GC in Kolkata where his father worked as greenskeeper. His first big professional win came in 2008 when he won the co-sanctioned event Indian Masters, earning him a nice purse as well as a two- year exemption on the European Tour. Since then, SSP has won three more times on the European Tour, all of them in India, of which the most recent one in March 2017 when he successfully defended his Hero Indian Open title in grand style with a seven shot margin.
